Q. What is the buyers premium?
A. In auctions, the buyer's premium is a charge in addition to the hammer price of an auction item, or lot. The winning bidder is required to pay both the hammer price and the percentage of that price called for by the buyer's premium.
Q. What is the hammer price?
A. The winning bid is also called the hammer price. It is the price upon which the auctioneer's hammer falls, determining the sale price, but does not include the buyer's premium.
Q. What is a max bid?
A. Your max bid is the maximum amount that you are willing to pay for the item. The auction software will bid on your behalf up to the amount you have set.
Q. Do you inspect all of the products that you auction?
A. Yes, all box damaged products are inspected. We do our best to visually inspect all products. We do not knowingly auction products that do not work. However, we will auction products with cosmetic damaged. These products with cosmetic issues will be noted and photographed for your inspection.
Q. What is box damage?
A. The packaging of these products will be torn, scraped, ripped, dirty, and in some cases opened. This damage is due to improper loading, unloading, and mishandling. In most cases the product is not damaged.
Q. What is cosmetic damage?
A. During shipping and handling some products will receive scratches, dents, or dirt. Cosmetic damage does not effect the functionality of the item.
Q. What is the auction preview?
A. Preview gives you the ability to inspect the items in person prior to bidding.
Q. How do I know if I won an item?
A. You will be notified by email and text message. You may also check you hibid.com dashboard for any winning notifications.
Q. How to I receive my winning items?
A. After the conclusion of the auction you will be will be able to pick up your winning items from the auction house. Please check the auction details for the pick up dates and times.
Q. Do you ship items?
A. Yes, we will ship items at the buyers expense. We ship with Fedex, UPS, and USPS. If your purchases exceed 70 pounds and need to be shipped via truck freight it is your responsibility to arrange shipping.
Q. How to I pay fro my items?
A. When registering for an auction you will be required to provide a credit or debit card for age verification and a payment method for auction purchases. At the conclusion of the auction all cards on file will be charged.
Q. What if I want to pay with cash or use a different card other than the one on file?
A. Please notify us before the conclusion of the auction so we do not attempt to charge the card on file. If you prefer to always pay with cash we can set your account as a cash buyer for all future payment.
Q. Can tax exempt resellers purchase from you?
A. Yes, please supply us with a state tax exemption certificate and we will gladly remove your sales tax.
